On the morning of Thursday, March 20, 2025, attendees will have the option to attend a technical tour. The technical tours will be repeated in the afternoon. See below for additional information about each technical tour.

Walking Tour of Louisville Safety and Mobility Projects

Discover the vibrant and transformative NULU District of Louisville on an engaging walking tour focused on the City's innovative traffic safety projects. This walking tour offers a unique opportunity to see firsthand how the City of Louisville is fostering a safe, dynamic, and inclusive urban environment through key traffic safety initiatives. Join us to gain valuable insights and inspiration from Louisville’s commitment to creating a safe community for all road users.

University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering

Join us for a visit to the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering. Dr. Robert Kluger, his colleagues, and his students will provide an overview of the transportation safety research and innovations being developed at the University. There also may be an opportunity to see the SCRIM truck used by KYTC to collect friction data. This is a great opportunity to see what is on the horizon in highway safety planning and design!

KYTC Safety Project Bus Tour

This technical tour will provide you with an in-depth look at several key projects aimed at improving safety and efficiency on Kentucky's roadways. Each stop on the tour will provide participants with valuable insights into the design, planning, and execution of these initiatives, highlighting Kentucky’s dedication to innovative transportation solutions and superior roadway safety practices.
